Now that I am primary caregiver for my ninety-one year old mother, I am becoming aware of the invisible economy of caregiving for our elderly family members. On Twitter, where there is a hashtag for everything, there is no hashtag for #primarycaregiver. So I have started one. Same goes for here, on LinkedIn.

When the home care nurse came to visit I asked how many household was their office attending in our local support area. She replied, "600 to 800". There are many families in Canada who are contributing significant, unaccounted resources to the Canadian economy at great personal cost. #linkedin #economy #primarycaregiver
