Preliminary mapping activity: relationships, entities, events
We are familiar with the term, "Primary Caregiver", however, it is only through first-hand experience that we begin to grasp the meaning of the role and the responsibilities entailed once it is assumed.
The "Primary Caregiver" is situated within complex, often overlapping contexts.
Personal - refers to our sense of identify, how we see ourselves, how we think and act in relation to our sense of self in the world, the part of our life that is our own, when we are alone.
Family - refers to our position within bonded family relationships (by choice or birth), how we see ourselves within family system dynamics, how our sense of self is shaped by, and in turn shapes, the quality and quantity of family relational activity.
Home - refers to the place we live, where we eat, sleep, bathe; where we live with others and share day to day life events that build connections over time.
Professional - refers to our work life, the activities we carry out in the world that support our financial, aspirational, inspirational, or necessary needs.
