BIOGRAPHY

Fidel “Eddie” Valdez Ramos was born on March 18, 1928, in Lingayen, Pangasinan, to Narciso and Angela Ramos, and had one sibling, Leticia Ramos Shahani. He studied at Lingayen Elementary, UP High School, and Centro Escolar University Integrated School, then graduated from the United States Military Academy with a degree in Military Engineering. Ramos earned master’s degrees in civil engineering, national security, and business administration, along with 29 honorary doctorates. He married Amelita Martinez Ramos, and they had five children. He served as the 12th President of the Philippines from 1992 to 1998, guiding the country toward political stability, economic growth, and modernization, and passed away on July 31, 2022.
