BIOGRAPHY

Diosdado Pangan Macapagal Sr. was born on September 28, 1910, in Lubao, Pampanga, to Urbano and Romana Macapagal, and had four siblings. He earned multiple degrees in law and economics from the University of the Philippines, Philippine Law School, and University of Santo Tomas. Macapagal married twice, first to Purita de la Rosa and later to Eva Macaraeg, and had four children, including future president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. He served as the ninth President of the Philippines from 1961 to 1965, known for his focus on economic reform, social justice, and national development.
