BIOGRAPHY

Manuel Roxas y Acuña was born on January 1, 1892, in Capiz (now Roxas City) to Gerardo Roxas and Rosario Acuña. He excelled in school, graduating with honors from Manila High School, and later became class valedictorian of the University of the Philippines College of Law, topping the bar with 92%. Roxas married Trinidad de Leon, and they had two children, Rosario “Ruby” and Gerardo “Gerry” Roxas. He served as the fifth President of the Philippines from 1946 to 1948, guiding the nation through its early post-independence years before his passing on April 15, 1948.
