The Kantele River is a tributary of the East Sellen River that begins in the foothills of the Galtan Fog Peaks, west of Stavintower. From there it flows in a general westerly direction, skirting the southern edge of the Boarwood, flowing through Isarn before joining the Stormflood River southeast of the capital.
The Boarwood is the largest forest in Galt stretching over 200 miles west to east, yet it never widens to more than 40 miles wide north to south. It lies east of the capital Isarn and north of the Kantele River and the Fog Peaks. The cities of Halvon, Edme and Stavintower all lie on its borders. The Boarwood's easternmost trees mark the eastern border of Galt itself.
The East Sellen River flows south out of the Icerime Peaks of Brevoy through the Gronzi Forest, and empties into Lake Reykal. The river continues south past New Stetven into the River Kingdoms, passing through the lands of House Medvyed, House Lebeda, and House Rogarvia. In the River Kingdoms it flows through Lake Hooktongue, passing the city of Mivon before being joined by the Chalkstone River west of Liberthane. From there it flows south into Galt and turns west near the city of Isarn, flowing through the Southern Hymbrian Forest, where it is joined by the Hymbrian River. It finally flows into Kallas Lake where it joins the Sellen River.
The Fog Peaks are a large mountain range in eastern Avistan that form the border between the nations of Taldor to the south and Galt to the north. They run from Taldor's northern Verduran Forest in a generally northeasterly direction, eventually running into foothills just south of Galt's eastern Boarwood.
The Horun Plain is the central growing region of the anarchic nation of Galt, located in the west of the nation between the Fog Peaks and the Southern Hymbrian Forest. Before the Red Revolution, farmers here sent their grain to be milled in the city of Litran, but much of this commerce, like everything else, has been disrupted by Galt's ongoing troubles.
The Southern Hymbrian Forest lies entirely within the borders of Galt, across the East Sellen River from its northern woods.
The Nordein Glacier is located in the central Fog Peaks of southern Galt. The mountain on which the glacier sits contains a hidden valley that is slowly being swallowed by the ice. Legends claim that an evil spirit called the Jarl of the North Wind lives near the glacier.
The Sellen River is one of the most heavily traveled waterways in eastern Avistan and plays an incalculably important role in the trade and culture of all the nations of central and northeastern Avistan. Originating in the Lake of Mists and Veils north of Brevoy, the Sellen flows south through Numeria and the River Kingdoms (where it branches into countless fingers winding through the marshy countryside), and along the borders of Kyonin, Galt, and Andoran, finally pouring into Star Bay and the Inner Sea at the Taldan port of Cassomir. It is easily one of the longest rivers on Golarion.
