This imposing obsidian tower sits on the island in the Kantele River in Vielle Ville, dominating the skyline of Isarn. The seat of power for each of Galt's Revolutionary Councils since its completion, the Monolith doubles as Isarn's hall of justice. Sitting at the base of the Monolith is an impressive garden packed with irises, the national symbol of Galt.
This large and once-impressive temple to was a large meeting space that called Aroden's faithful to worship. Since his death, the temple has undergone a series of incomplete renovation efforts that have left it a mockery of its former grandeur.
Most recently, in an attempt to forge a relationship with the Grey Gardeners, Korran Goss offered them use of Le Temple Creux a base of operations in Isarn.
This building's classical Taldane architecture and marble facade set it as a stark contrast to the Monolith's imposing and bare obsidian face. While their numbers have dwindled, the Senate building and the institution remain symbols of Galt's democratic aspirations. For this reason, the Senate is the only meticulously maintained structure in all of Isarn.
This publication has called for independence from Cheliax and espoused the values of liberty since before the first Revolutionary Council was called to order. Over the years, the newspaper has seen many of its contributors and editors meet their end by Madame Margaery. The Voice is a favorite among the citizens of Isarn due to its passionate editorials, though many readers will admit its news could benefit from more journalistic integrity.
This once-grand building served as Isarn's treasury, storing wealth and priceless artifacts. The bank is located at the innermost end of La Rue du Pain, and is one of the most heavily guarded structures in all of Galt. This security has safeguarded the Galtan National Bank from looters and skilled thieves alike. No other financial institutions have managed to survive the crime in Isarn, leaving this state-controlled bank as the only place to safeguard valuables.
Formerly the Galtan National Academy of the Arcane, this former world famous institution of learning has been sacked multiple times by regimes and looters alike. Since the rise of Citizen Korran Goss, the university grounds have been handed over to the care of his vizier, Mirielle Houdin, a powerful abjurer. Mirelle has spent the last few years personally repairing a buildings on the university grounds and warding the grounds against intrusions magical and mundane, giving The Ward its name.
Once the renovations were complete, a few students hand-picked were hand-picked to attend her re-opened academy.
This small stone building stands apart from the grander classical buildings in Vieille Ville. This tiny shop is a remnant of the original Fort Isarn, making it the oldest structure in the city. For the last few centuries it has served as an alchemy shop, being passed down from master to apprentice for centuries. This shop is known for providing the highest quality alchemical goods. It is run by Catherine Monvoisin, the polite if somewhat unsettling matron of the shop.
Under a proclamation by a previous Revolutionary Council prevents the production of fine materials, as well as clothing made from such materials. Formerly famous as one of the fashion trendsetters in Avistan, the Louis Vaquelin Clothing Company, founded in 4554, has managed to stay in operation despite decades of hardship. Most the the Louis Vaquelin Company's business nowadays involves producing stylized clothes out of the limited materials still allowed by the Revolutionary Council. While these simple garments may not be the envy of the Inner Sea, the styles used in these clothes inevitably catch on outside of Galt.
