In this cybersecurity unit, I learned in depth about phishing and how increasingly sophisticated phishing emails can appear completely legitimate, such as fake Amazon messages that trick users into entering their credentials on cloned websites. I also learned the importance of recognizing warning signs like urgency, suspicious links, and emotional manipulation, and how to protect myself by verifying URLs, hovering over links, and going directly to official websites instead of clicking through emails. This unit really shows us the importance of recognizing phishing and malware attacks as they can seriously compromise personal information and why staying alert, trusting your instincts, and reporting suspicious activity is essential for protecting yourself and your community.
