Welcome to my course portfolio! My name is Kayla C., and I am currently studying Business at CCBC. My career goal is to work in healthcare administration and focus on the management side of the healthcare system. This path is perfect for me because I am passionate about healthcare, but I prefer not to work in the hands-on clinical or medical side. This site will showcase my work and progress throughout the semester.
Course Reflection:
Throughout this course, I developed a stronger understanding of how technology impacts our daily lives, education, careers, and society as a whole. Each unit introduced me to important digital literacy skills, from using Microsoft Office applications and understanding databases to practicing digital ethics, cybersecurity, and exploring emerging technologies. I learned that technology is not just about knowing how to use programs, but also about understanding how to use them responsibly, protect information, and think critically about the digital world around us.
One of the biggest lessons I gained from this course is the importance of being a responsible digital citizen. Through topics like digital privacy, cybersecurity, and ethical media use, I became more aware of how my actions online can affect myself and others. I also enjoyed learning about emerging technologies and global technology issues because it showed me both the opportunities technology creates and the challenges, such as the digital divide, that still exist around the world. Overall, this course expanded my digital skills and gave me knowledge that I can apply in my academic work, future career, and everyday life.
