We had our annual show this year on November 2nd at the Seattle Center Armory. Many of our students were there and presented their beautiful paintings.
We also had a digital art show in partnership with Signage Grid Inc., a start-up whose mission is to bring interactive technology to digital broadcast media. The digital show had many interactive elements on the screens at the workshop. They are still available online until November 15th. We also had an activity table for visitors and guests to try their hand at Madhubani art.
Additionally, there was an awards ceremony for many of the incredible people at our art school like our Kindness Crew, our administrators, the editors of the newsletter, and many other people who are instrumental to the success of our art school.

The month of artwork being on display at the Seattle Asian Art Museum has finally come to a close. On November 9th, we had an artist reception to introduce the artists behind the amazing paintings on display at the museum. In addition, we also had an art workshop for families to paint their own flower pots, coasters, and bookmarks to take home.

Deepti Designs recently hosted a vibrant Madhubani workshop at the KCLS Lakehills Library to celebrate Diwali. Participants had the opportunity to create their own Madhubani motifs on wooden earrings, coasters, bookmarks, and paper cards. The event also featured kolam puzzles, which delighted the children in attendance and were available for purchase. The workshop was well-attended and filled with creativity and community spirit, making it a memorable part of our Diwali festivities. Thank you to the volunteers—Shriya Shaji, Hasini, Tanvi, and Sumi Panchapagesan—for helping to bring this event to life!

On October 18th, our art school hosted a workshop for Microsoft employees. The employees were given a six-hour time slot to drop in and participate in the activities run by our volunteers Sameera, Anika, Meenakshi, Venella, Srinidhi, Ms. Deepti, Ms. Nikita, and Ms. Aditi.
Our volunteers worked hard to manage, engage, and teach all of the visitors about Madhubani, as well as help them create their own pieces of artwork to take home. The event offered a chance for many visitors to be exposed to Madhubani for the first time, and they had an opportunity to try their hand at Madhubani as well. As summarized by Meenakshi, “I really enjoyed seeing people who usually don’t do art come and sit down to do Madhubani art and create something.”
