Deepti Designs returned to the Bothell Art Walk on July 11th, and what a day it was! Under a sunny sky, our fantastic volunteers—Arunim, Ritisha, Riyanshi, and Guhan—enthusiastically ran our vibrant booth near the Wanderlust Book Lounge. For nearly 4 hours, they displayed their paintings and guided visitors through a fun, hands-on art activity.
One volunteer captured the spirit of the day perfectly, saying the event was a massive hit that "engaged everyone who came since they all drew something." It was truly wonderful to see so many happy faces and creative spirits at work. Stay tuned for future opportunities!

Recently, Deepti Designs has contributed to the one and only Seattle Asian Art Museum with two of our own community paintings! Volunteers worked tirelessly to bring to life the two canvases of a Diwali scene and a Mandala, which will remain on display in the museum's studio hall.
All artists who contributed got to sign the pieces in their native languages. We are so proud to have shared our culture in such a big establishment; continue the good work!

Our school was excited to announce the annual Udgaar event this year. After pausing Udgaar for two years because of Covid-19, this year we resumed it due to popular demand. Udgaar is a free and mandatory public speaking opportunity for all students at Deepti Designs School of Art to present their work to a group of peers and parents. It is very important for us at Deepti Designs to provide an opportunity for all artists to present their work in a low-stakes environment to increase their confidence in public speaking and to grow their leadership abilities.
Udgaar ran for two weeks this year, the week of June 10th-14th, and the week of June 17th-21th. Each student needed to prepare a one-minute speech about their artwork, explaining the piece's cultural significance and thoughts about it. Many artists gave speeches for the first time in Udgaar, and we are happy to say that they all did a great job. We hope to host this program again next year!

Indus Creations had a Tamil play called Googly, to which our school already contributed by preparing a set of pillars. However, some last-minute help was needed for curtain valances, and a team of artists from our school stepped up. Put your hands together for Anvika Bheemarasetty, Mrs. Shilpa Sherigar, and Pehal Thackar, who worked together to paint a curtain valance which brightened the play set in Madhubani style.

Check out the amazing work of Shriya Shaji, Shraddha Karthik, and Aadya Bommineni! These talented young artists showcased their creativity at the Redmond Children’s Commercial Fair with their booth called Ashraya Arts.
They used traditional Madhubani designs and techniques to create stunning journals, earrings, decorative letters, flower pots, coasters, and stickers. The name Ashraya, meaning base or shelter in Sanskrit, perfectly reflects their mission to provide a home for Madhubani art to thrive and evolve. Visitors were not only impressed by the art but also curious to learn about Madhubani's rich history and culture!
