STEP TWO.A: What is a Character!?
So… you’re wondering ‘now what'? Right? It’s alright, that’s where we’re at too!
Now what you need to do is make yourself a character! This will be your Handler. The character you draw all your cats with.
Yes, you can bring in an existing character to the group!
*Characters depicted in non-human (anthro) form do have certain restrictions. please see handler Creation for details on when a character can be anthro and when they must be human.No… you don’t really need a handler if you just want to draw pretty cats.
You can skip to STEP THREE
You can draw your cats without handlers
Some activities in the group are tailored towards your Handler and not the Cat though!
So you have a character in mind and you’re ready to get started. Great! Here’s what you need…
A drawing OR literature submission to represent your Handler.
The required Handler Template found > H E R E <
A comment Log on your Handler’s submission
Handler Examples ;
Just Handler Things!
Once you have your handler created as the outline above and the examples shown you can submit them to the group. After that you’re ready and rarin’ to go! As long as your logs are ready in your handler you can START EXPLORING or check out GETTING YOUR FIRST SHEDU!
One fun way to get a Shedu some starting RDs and a Trait for your Handler is to do the Shedu Novice Diploma!
This is an excellent way to start especially if you're not sure you want to try your hand at designing a shedu just yet. This method is perfect for those who want to get going right away!
Each handler with a Shedu Novice Diploma (or SND) gets benefits depending on which Diploma Course you select for your handler, they will receive ;
1 Handler Trait
+1 AP to Cats you train in future Training Art/ Literature
+5-15 points RNG to Show scores entered with you handler!
Rockport Dollars ( In Game Currency )
The ability to get a Shedu from the SND Design pool!
Even if you have other plans for your First Shedu, the SND is a great next-step!
Don't forget to visit the SND journal and see what all it takes.
Each handler can have only one profession at a time, unless they have genius ability, but you can change professions for your rider as many times as you wish. Keep in mind that if your character will changes their profession they will lose all the benefits of their previous occupation. And if they will come back to old trade they will start from complete 0. Handlers DO NOT save old progress when you change professions!
Though professions give certain benefits in certain fields it does not mean that people who went with other professions can`t take part in activities of other professions.
For example, rider can attend street races, street racer can take part in official events, policemen and soldiers can take part in street racing and official shows. Same goes with breeders.
However, there are some restrictions:
If rider, breeder, soldier or policemen will take part in street race and will end up caught by police, they will loose one division level in their profession field (if they won`t have a getaway).
So, for example, a police detective will be demoted to officer.
(Of course in case of policemen and soldiers we speak of attending street races being off-duty. There won`t be any penalty for chasing and trying to catch nasty street racers)
No one, except policemen, can attend police quests and/or chase street racers. Same goes for Soldiers, they have their own unique quests that no others may attend.
