SHEDU SPECIAL DESIGNS
SHEDU SPECIAL DESIGNS
DEADLINE: 15th of January (2025) [+ 24h grace period]
This time you have free reins in what theme to choose for you to design, with only 3 design slots per member.
As usual, these designs will be unique for your cat only. The odd expressions of the genes are not allowed to be inherited by the offspring of the cat.
What does it even mean "special" design? It means that you can tweak a bit standard expressions of the genes, that normally won`t be accepted or possible.
3 designs per member
Design is unique and the expressions of the genes may not be inherited by the offspring
Design should have a special corner tag (to be placed in right upper corner): [LINK]
Cat`s info should have this line in the end of the template:
THIS CAT'S DESIGN IS SPECIAL 2024 DESIGN AND MAY NOT BE COPIED, THE ODD FEATURES OF THIS DESIGN CAN NOT BE INHERITED BY CAT'S OFFSPRING
The design, while it posses unusual features, should still look somewhat realistic. Any marking should look like one that could happen on animal`s pelt in a natural way. The markings should not look like an applied paint.
When using signature shapes, such as "hearts", "letters or numbers", "skeletal patterns", please do not turn each and every part of the markings into them. Use them as unusual accents.
Skull-like markings are allowed
Extra symmetry in markings is allowed
Floral, Snowflake and heart motives are allowed
Pangare is allowed to have flames/fire feel to it
It is hard to think of each and every possibility and motive, but this is an overall guide.
It does have a bit more strict frames this time. However, you will find examples of special designs from previous years.
And examples of right and wrong approach.
THEME
FREE (Keep it PG-13 and stay away from provocative things. Group leaves the right to decline the design if it will be perceived as disturbing or inappropriate)
RIGHTS AND WRONGS
Both designs are aimed at Valentine theme. (using smoky leopard pattern [-3] as the gene to work with)
Wrong exampe
First one has way too precise and regular shapes, it does not follow standard rules of how smoky leopard works. It uses all spots of the pattern to be "hearts"
Right example
Second design follows smoky leopard principle, keeps recognizable shapes rather irregular and naturalistic looking, uses more "normal" spots of smoky leopard to make the hearts to be an accent. + lovely free white marking on a head ; )
Here are some real life examples of interesting, yet (obviously) realistic looking markings to draw inspiration from:
