Levia-readers, as we enter 2025- we at Leviathan would like to further push the envelope and take this Monthly Magazine to new heights this year! And how you may ask can we do that?!?- Well, by bringing in some of the biggest names of wrestling to feature on our cover. And who better than the face of Leviathan AND the newest Jewel of Atlantis Champion; Umiko “Sea Serpent” Sakaguchi!
In the spirit of celebrating Chinese/Japanese New Year which so happens to be the Year of The Snake/Serpent which ties perfectly with Umiko as she takes center page! Now it thematically being “her year”, will it truly be the Sea Serpent’s year? Starting off somewhat well, in capturing the JOA championship, granted in the way that MANY in Leviathan including Umiko herself wished not to happen due to cheating interference- Umiko is poised to make a historical run with the belt and even announced an organization-wide OPEN CHALLENGE for the belt!
Will the Face of Leviathan be able to defend this belt from the sheer number of suitors who would love to take this off her waist?!? Just how many will Umiko be able to defend against and in addition- will she be able to beat Akari’s current reigning record paired with defenses?!?
In a bout between two wrestlers in the Lower Card of Leviathan; Prisha Kapoor takes on Aphrodite in a bout for their first singles victory with the black and blue brand. In a bout that is only described as…MID, a winner was named in one of the most unconventional ways we’ve seen. Prisha, attempting a Suicide Dive between the ropes, missed her target and ended up ramming into Ares instead…ultimately knocking herself out. Primrose would take advantage of the situation by bringing her foe back in the ring and pinning her foe to get her first win! For which after the match, gave her KOed opponent a peck on the head as a way to say thanks. Poor Prisha can’t a break!
Ever since Eva Quetzali aka Quetzalcoatl failed to make a statement by standing with the Aztec faction and taking the brutal fight to their biggest target, Ulla de Melo (codenamed Harpy), the green-clad luchadora has been working on recovering that lost momentum.
In her next match, she stood toe-to-toe against none other than the Crimson Rose and Zoey Ritterstark. Zoey was starting to make a name for herself and proving to just maybe be worthy of a shot at being champ in the future. Yet after this match, Eva would show that narrative should be on her! Not only did she recapture some of the lost love from the crowd, but she made sure that people would be talking about this match in days to come as she reversed Zoey’s piledriver and showed off her brand new finisher: The Fifth Sun for an Aztec victory! How will the rest of Quetzalcoatl’s career go within the black and blue brand? Stay tuned to find out!
Here we have the first match of the new year for Leviathan featuring the Pink Luchadora; Axolotl taking on the rookie Lucky Katsuagi aka Golden Goose! Staying true to her name, will this luck-based wrestler pull off the massive upset and win her on her first matches in Leviathan? Ehhhh, she was close but not lucky enough to take down the masked star! Who so happened to lock Katsu in her own embarrassing pinning maneuver that she calls El carrusel rosa aka The Pink Carousel as Lucky went for quite the spin while Lucky’s roommate and faction mate Gulper Eel watched on disgruntledly.
The Octodog mascots are back in the ring with Seki Rinako aka Usagi taking on the masked mystery in Fog! In a pretty even match, fast food mascot managed to crack her opponent’s mask- accidentally of course which turned the bout in her favor. Rather than go in a rage or retaliate, Miya seemed to buckle due to part of her face being revealed and succumbed to one of Seki’s specialties- her thighs, oop we mean her Headscissors! But this food mascot wasn’t heartless and noticed afterwards that Fog was in distress so rather than offering her signature coupon, Seki used an Octodog sticker to piece together her former foe’s mask…Let’s just say, Octodog may have just added a new customer after this bout~
The Akari vs Umiko saga continues for the JOA Championship and things aren’t slowing down for either of them! With both continuously adding to the pressure on the other, eventually, that said pressure caused a POP! After ten exciting, exhilarating, and thrilling minutes later the pair would end up on the ring apron! Somehow Akari managed to wiggle her way back into the ring and managed to hit a Big Boot to the side of Umiko’s face! This launched her off the ring apron and caused her to crash HARD on the outside. Some feared the Sea Serpent might’ve been hurt on this landing. Will this change the course of the match?!? Stay tuned for the FINAL PART of this championship defense!
The Finale for Akari vs Umiko is here and it’s a doozy! While the referee checked on Umiko on the outside- a masked individual in a jumpsuit jumped up on the ring apron and with the JOA Title in hand SMASHED IT ACROSS AKARI’s FACE! Not knowing what had happened, Umiko would recover and inadvertently take advantage of this attack and hit her Lily Lullaby Kick on the already hurt Akari! This was enough for the Sea Serpent to capitalize and become Leviathan’s NEW JEWEL OF ATLANTIS CHAMPION! Crying into her new title, Umiko tried to really soak in the moment but it ended quickly as the stadium Titantron showed the interference…Ultimately, Umiko’s first-ever championship with the company was tainted and possibly even seriously injuring Akari Ito in the process- And Umiko was PISSED OFF! Who could’ve done this and WHY!
