The resolution appealed to recycle all the recyclable waste as well as condemned the imports of plastic from other countries. In addition, the operative clauses declared that all the countries had been concerned for the matter and confirmed that the methane release from landfill will be used as a source of electricity.
“As long as enthusiasm holds out, so will opportunities,” the chair of the committee, Ms Binisha Neupane expressed with delight ,” MUN is an opportunity that should not be taken lightly and with this event the delegates enhance their knowledge about the world while making themselves more confident speakers.”
The resolution was opposed by the delegates of USA, Canada, India, Japan and more who presented their own resolution containing different ideas regarding the same problem. However, the resolution fell short of passing with just 7 votes whereas the other resolution was passed by the committee with 16 votes in total.
