It happens to everybody, the chair, the dais, perhaps even the sec-gen. In the beginning, the MUN seems like a burden, an assignment that ought to be completed. A task that needs to be fulfilled and when you finish researching about the respective things prior to the first session, it feels like good riddance.

But once you step on to the room, and see the world of debate unfold around you, it is a dream. Trust me, if you are reading this when you haven't stepped on to the actual platform of MUN, it is nothing like you are dreading. It is an engaging, almost entrancing event. You can ask questions after someone states something, you can answer questions, you can debate onto paragraphs worth of speech and not just once.

There is no limit to how many times you can speak, within the time frame and given the chance. It is fun and it is absolutely worthwhile. All the time spent on research when you are putting your opinions, and I mean it through experience. You can pick your own side. You can even change sides, if you feel that the other side is the correct one. You can defend other's allegations directed towards you, you can defend others, and you can question the delegate's country or party. It is just a rich and deep form of expression.

Everything you have read is true, about the MUN being a place to express your thoughts and to improve your skill. Once you experience it, you will know it. Just remember one thing: the moment you step in the committee, it is going to be actually fun, even if you are not interested.

Make the best of it, it is in all reality, a wonderful experience.

This is a war to end all wars. So, that is the sole purpose of TESMUN. Load your voices, aim at the problems but just hold the trigger to your creative and analytical solutions. Because you don't owe any power to change the world now, but you are the rising stars for the upcoming future.

Victory comes from finding solutions inside problems. And eventually, it is the key factor to run the Model United Nations program. This program involves every participant to develop their personal skills including their analytical skills, public speaking and social involvement. An active participation would be beneficial in the long run. So, delegates, let's make this program smooth and efficient because why not?
