The second TESMUN session 2025 was conducted successfully as the delegate spoke about their GSLs on the topic “Proliferation of hypersonic weapons and its impact on global security”. After its completion, the delegates presented their country’s views and also accused other delegates of moderating causes on the topic of Unregulated Acceleration of Hypersonic Weapons.
The committee DISEC formally began with the roll call done by the moderator (Upasahna Dhamala). After which, the delegate of Iran (Dhiki Khando Lama) raised a motion to start the GSL on the topic “Proliferation of hypersonic weapons and its impact on global security”, where the first speaker, the delegate of India (Sijan Neupane), claimed to develop its hypersonic missile to protect the country from its neighboring countries.
Following, the delegate of the USA (Akarshi Poudel) expressed her concerns regarding the absence of transparency. Likewise, other delegates also expressed their view on how hypersonic weapons pose a threat to global security and how different countries have claimed to advocate for peace, maintain transparency, and support international rules. Different delegates were then accused of possession of arms, using hypersonic missiles, and not maintaining transparency.
After the GSL was completed, the committee then moved towards a moderated caucus started by the delegate of Iran (Dhiki Khando Lama) on “Unregulated Acceleration of Hypersonic Weapons”. The delegate of Israel first accused the delegate of China of making hypersonic weapons that pose a large threat to global security. The delegate of China then replied that the weapons were for the sake of their own security. Likewise, the delegate of Ukraine was accused by the delegate of Russia, who seemed to be concerned about the expansion of arms by Ukraine.
Claiming a point to be noted, Ukraine defended itself by stating its innocence against the use due to the ongoing war. The USA was also questioned by different countries about the unstable management of hypersonic weapons, to which the USA claimed responsibility was promoted in their country.
“Leadership is not about the speech but about responsibility,” declared the USA. Iran was quick with their words, accusing Japan, Germany, India, as well as multiple countries with enthusiasm.
The delegates wholly agreed that peaceful organizations should replace forceful ones and that international laws should be followed. Thus, the first day of the second MUN session 2025 was conducted peacefully and energetically with passionate debates and coordination among the delegates.
