Below, you'll find a list of various magical potions, salves, and spells that are used by the witches of Terapersü. This list is ever-growing and witches are more than welcome to submit their successful magical experiments that can be added to this list to the worldbuilding channel. You are also not limited to these within roleplay, but we do ask that you let Council know whenever you experiment with new magic before you post to the roleplay channels.
This is a guide to tea leaf reading for witchcraft. You can use any type of tea for this, though various herbal teas seem to be the favorites among most witches. Place a good amount of leaves into your teapot and bring to a boil, then turning off the heat and brewing the tea for about 7-8 minutes. You'll want to pour out a good amount of tea from the pot before serving the most potent tea towards the bottom of the pot. The person will need to drink all of the tea before you will be able to read the leaves left on the bottom of the teacup. They should then take the cup by its handle in their left hand, and move it in a circle pattern three times quickly. You can then take the cup from them, turn it upside down on top of the saucer and wait a few minutes for the liquid to drain away before starting your reading.
You will want to start your readings from the handle of the teacup and continue along in a clockwise direction. The shapes closest to the handle represent events closest to the present, shapes close to the rim of the cup represent the past, and shapes at the bottom of the cup refer to the future. It can take some time for the shapes of leaves to become clear, so be patient while searching the cup.
If a shape forms in the dark colors of the leaves themselves, it is a negative omen. If the shape is seen in the white of the cup between the leaves, it indicates something positive. The size of the different shapes signifies how important they will be in the person's life, small being less important.
There are an infinite number of shapes that could indicate all sorts of meanings, so this list is not inclusive. You can do some of your own research or get creative with your symbols and meanings.
Letters
Uppercase letters found in tea leaves refer to the first letter in place names. So, for example, if an uppercase letter is seen beside birds at rest, this could mean that person will consider a journey to a place that starts with that letter.
Lowercase letters refer to the first letter in a person's name. So, for example, a lowercase letter next to a white heart symbol between leaves can be a sign of a successful romantic relationship. If these symbols are close to the bottom of the cup, this means it is a future love, if close to the rim, a past love.
Lines
Tiny tea leaves, or dust, that forms in a line pointing towards or away from the handle of the cup will mean a journey. If the person is away from home, this will mean the journey will take them back home. If the person is at home, the line means they will be leaving home. Long lines represent long journeys and short lines represent short journeys. Numbers beside the lines can represent the amount of time a journey will last. If it is a long line with a number 6, it can mean 6 years or 6 months, if it is a short line with a number 6, that can mean 6 days or 6 weeks. If the number is sitting in front of the line, that means that the journey will happen in 6 days, 6 weeks, etc.
A wavy line represents water or the ocean. When combined with other symbols this could mean various things. A journey, a lover who lives across the ocean, etc.
Dots
Dots encircling a symbol indicate money in some way. For example, dots circling an anchor indicates good financial fortune. Dots encircling an owl indicate poverty.
Birds
Flying birds indicate the good news is on its way. If next to a letter, good news will be coming from someone whose name starts with the letter. Birds at rest indicate a fortunate journey. A bird's wing indicates newfound freedom.
Clouds
Very serious troubles, in the past, present or future depending on location.
Kettle, Shark, Raven
Death of the person your are reading for.
Heart
Hearts represent a lover, and will usually present close to a letter. If it is distinct, this represents a successful love, if blurred, a doomed love. If the heart sits next to a ring, this indicates marriage. If the ring is surrounded by clouds, this means it will be an unhappy marriage.
Cross
A blockage, unforeseen troubles in the past, present or future depending on location. If a cross is next to a letter, it indicates death for a person that starts with the letter.
Coffin
Terminal, long-lasting illness or death of a loved one, clues to who could be given with a letter.
Hourglass, Snake
Imminent danger.
Candle
Represents spiritual enlightenment.
Triangles
A surprise that brings good fortune, if distinct. If blurred, a surprise that will bring negativity.
Owl
Sickness, poverty, or a warning against starting something new.
Boat
A boat close to the handle indicates a friend coming to visit the person, a boat on the opposite side of the cup indicates they will visit their friend.
Goat
Signifies enemies, warning to be wary of enemies. If close to handle, this enemy is close to home, and could be someone they thought was a friend. Goat on the opposite side of cup will mean enemies on the outside. Someone they don't know or aren't close to. A letter could indicate the first letter of name.
