Below is a procedure that I would present for my students (after a couple of edits) to teach them about our classroom procedures!
Here are just a couple more procedures that I would include in my classroom and how I would teach/ do them!
I think that I will put everything that the students need to do to transition for the day onto the board adn walk them through what they need to do. After this, I will play some music (if they have earned it) and let them do what they need to!
I will teach my students how and why they need to raise their hand to get my attention for certain things and when it is a good time to come up and talk to me instead. I think that I will teach them why but also have a sign on my desk that I can flip that says "Raise Your Hand" on one side and "Come Up Here" on the other to help students who may be struggling a little extra.
I think that having something like a choice board that students can do throughout a unit would be a great idea for students who may finish early! This way, they will always have something to be working on!
I think that this procedure will be similar to the transition one where I will have something on the board. I will post the materiels that we need to our next subject onto the board and let students get it out while we listen to music. Before we start our lesson, I want to try to do a short meditation with them to bring them back in from the excitement that they came from.
