FAB400 at the 2024 National LGBTQ Health Conference!
FAB400 is an ongoing longitudinal study of health, relationships, and personal development among young LGBTQ people assigned female at birth (AFAB)-- including cisgender sexual minority women, transgender men, and nonbinary AFAB individuals. Through this study we aim to better understand LGBT young people's experiences in today's world. We are particularly interested in identifying risk and protective factors for a variety of experiences that LGBT youth commonly face, including stigma, mental health struggles, dating violence, bullying, and substance misuse. Ultimately, this information can inform efforts to promote mental health and life satisfaction in the queer community.
FAB400 is being conducted in collaboration with the Institute for Sexual and Gender Minorities (ISGM) at Northwestern University and is funded by the National Institutes of Health (R01MH132692; R01HD086170; PI: Whitton).
Thanks to our wonderful FAB400 participants! Because of them, we've able to accomplish many studies in a variety of areas:
Relationships
Relationship quality, COVID stress, and mental health in sexual and gender minority young adults
Minority stress and romantic relationship functioning among young sexual minority women
Relationship quality and mental health among sexual and gender minorities
Substance Use
Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)
Minority Stress & Stigma
