Mike Bruner, Psy.D.

Mike received his B.S. in Biology from the University of Cincinnati in 2008. He worked as a research assistant in TCF for several years, completing and publishing on two independent studies exploring romantic relationship functioning in emerging adults. He left TCF in 2012, when he was accepted into Xavier University's clinical psychology program. At Xavier, his research interests shifted toward health outcomes and associations w/ psychological flexibility. His dissertation was titled, "Psychological Inflexibility as a Mediator of Associations between Health Attitudes and Health Behaviors in a Sample of Urban Underserved Youth." He earned his Psy.D. with an emphasis in Healthcare Psychology Across the Lifespan in 2017. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at Cherokee Health Systems in Knoxville, Tennesee, and his post-doctoral fellowship at the Cincinnati VAMC. He now works for Healthsource of Ohio, the largest federally-qualified health center in Ohio. He provides direct care as a primary care behavioral health consultant, and also plays an administrative role, building an integrated behavioral health program across the Healthsource system.
