Oral health is the most important part of one’s overall health. the health of the teeth, gums, and the entire oral-facial system that allows us to smile, speak, and chew was first fully understood by Dr. Alfred Fones or better known as “The father of dental hygiene”, he is the first ever educated dental hygienist. back then, The idea of dental hygiene was familiar but dental health care options were pretty scarce back then, with available options like water and a rough cloth to brush their teeth or using birch twig as a primitive tooth brush. Since the mouth is where food enters our body, obviously we have to take care of it from bacterias. That's why oral hygiene is so important to one’s overall health, that taking care of your oral health can lead to many benefits, with the number one benefit being preventing oral diseases.
