Professional Association and Teacher Registration

It is crucial that as educators we are a part of various professional associations; so as to remain current and be in the know.  Being a part of a professional organization is vital on this journey we traverse as educators. It is important to know and become familiarize with those association that will aide in one's professional growth and development. Jamaica Teaching Council and Jamaica Teachers' Association are two vital associations that all educators must strive to be a part of as they journey to become successful educators.

The JTC is an arm of the education system which falls under the umbrella of the Ministry of Education. They are responsible for the licencing and professional development of teachers.

While the Jamaica Teachers' Association which is a democratic organisation is responsible for the enhancement and protection of the economic welfare, professional development and personal well being of its members and the promotion of the educational interests of the country of Jamaica.
