Molding minds shaping the future; one child at a time.
As educators it is crucial that we have plans in place to stem and correct inappropriate behaviours while encouraging those that are appropriate. The use of positive reinforcement for negative actions are amongst strategies that educators can employ to use in their classrooms. Asking students to create and modify rules or select desirable consequences for their actions is also a part of the behavioural plan and strategies that is used in my class. Below you will find the class behavioural plan along with strategies used to ensure appropriate and desirable behaviour is maintained.
Token Economy- the Token Economy is another strategy used with the behavioural plan to foster appropriate behaviour. Students are awarded stars when they display appropriate behaviour. They have access to chart so they are able to use what they were rewarded for and also where they lost stars. This strategy can be employed online or in the physical space.
Classroom Dojo- This is another platform use to award students for desired behaviour. Their parents are able to track what is taking place and how they are behaving
Students are also given physical leadership badges or responsibilities so as to develop and promote leadership qualities while teaching them how to exhibit appropriate behaviour.
Other forms of behaviour modification techniques used in class are:
Call-outs- students who usually exhibit inappropriate behaviours are called out publicly when they do something positive/exhibit appropriate behaviours.
Privileges are taken away- such as playtime or free time
