Chief Jason Stentley was born and Raised in Hoboken, New Jersey. Growing up in a high metropolitan area, he gained an interest in law enforcement, joining the Hoboken Police Explorers program at 17. When he turned 19, he attended the academy and became a New Jersey State Trooper. Working his way up to being a Corporal, he joined the aviation unit and became a pilot. Tragedy struck however, when on an air patrol in Newark, the helicopter struck a building, leaving Stentley with reduced vision. After the accident, Stentley Joined the New York, New Jersey Port Authority, becoming a Detective Sergeant investigating major crimes around the Newark Liberty Airport. Eventually reaching the rank of Captain, he became the commanding officer at the Newark Liberty Airport.
Stentley was sworn in as Chief of Police on January 3rd, 2021. With his previous experience, he strives to constantly improve on the department, and continue to uphold the great reputation it has.
