Commander Henry Cox was appointed to the Sussex Police Department following the retirement of Henry Clark II and Henry Clark. He came in from the U.S. Marshals Service where he worked with the Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force. He was also a former social worker for the City of Nashville. He is currently working with the Sussex Police as a Financial Advisor and the Patrol Division. Cox graduated from the University of North Carolina -- Charlotte with a Psychology major in 1990. During his 15 years of work with the Marshals, he has investigated and caught over 200 fugitives across the Carolinas and the southeast US. Cox was also a part of a joint task force with the FBI, where he hunted down the Golden State Killer.
During his off time, Cox loves to spend his time cooking, running, swimming, and hiking. He also likes to spend time at his vacation home, in Kill Devil Hills. Cox is married and has 2 kids and 2 dogs.
