Marine Operations Division

Mission

To provide uniform patrol of all waterways within the jurisdictional boundaries of the City and County of Sussex, and respond to all water-related incidents and emergencies. To enforce marine laws of the State of Delaware, inspect vessels, and support public safety on the waterways in the City and County of Sussex. To assist other law enforcement entities and the public and provide underwater assistance.

Goals

To provide the citizens of Sussex County with an enhanced marine support service in addition to:

1. Deploy officers who are trained in the vessel and underwater operations

2. Prohibit drug smugglers on waterways

3. Assist other law enforcement agencies as requested
