Administrative Captain
Advisor Sean Isettica Malaway was admitted to the department April 24th, 2019, after a long disappearance from public. Sean served as the commander of the original Sussex County Sheriff Office, and Assistant Commissioner of the Delaware State Police. During this time, Malaway began his political career by joining the state legislation, bringing about sweeping changes within the state. His knowledge of law enforcement made him a keen candidate for governor. After his successful campaign, Sean served as the state governor. In about January 2019, Malaway suddenly stepped down from his position of governor, and wasn't heard from by media for a good long while. Sean made his return 6 months later, applying for the Sussex Metro Police Department. Malaway served as a Detective for majority of his career in metro. On January 8th 2020, Malaway was voted in on a majority 8-0 vote to serve as a Sergeant. He climbed the ranks eventually becoming captain of the Investigations Bureau. After serving as a uniformed officer for almost 2 years, Malaway hung up his badge to serve in a civilian administration position, as the Profesional Standards Bureau Director.
