 I was just guessing, trying to figure out this puzzle that is life.

But science does not speak as loud as my heart. 

Tell me you love me, come back and haunt me. 

In the end, we all just want to be loved.

That is why this notion that Satan is offering is so terrifying.

When I was a child, I always wanted to be a scientist when I grew up.

 Now, as an adult and a self-identified scientist. 

I still don't have answers.

I can't get enough answers to the endless number of questions out there.

Perhaps science is the only real truth in the universe?

I understand Christian theology thoroughly, I used to fancy myself a Christian apologist.

The Bible teaches that God is the ultimate truth.

Here in The Mysterious Stranger by Mark Twain.

Here in this story, we have Satan convincing young Theodore that nothing is real.

Satan says;

 "Nothing exists;

all is a dream.

God -man -the world

the sun, the moon,

the wilderness of stars

a dream, all a dream;

they have no existence.

Nothing exists save

empty space -- and you!"

"I!" (Me?) (Theodor)

"And you are not you--

you have no body,

no blood, no bones,

you are but a thought."

Now everyone knows that Satan is a liar. 

He is a deceiver. He is Evil masquerading as as everything good.

 But could he be right on this one?

 Can the real truth even be known?

Does real truth even matter?
