Storytelling Using Song Lyrics from 90s Pop Classic Hits

I wanted to take a moment to share an idea I’ve been working on—pop piano mashups using lyrics from some of my favorite 90s songs. These songs resonate deeply with me, and I’m rearranging their lyrics into a cohesive storytelling ballad.

The concept is to take the lyrics from these four songs:

Dreams – The Cranberries (1993)
Runaway Train – Soul Asylum (1993)
One Headlight – The Wallflowers (1996)
Glycerine – Bush (1994)

I’m restructuring and condensing the lyrics to craft a narrative, modifying the arrangement to fit a seamless performance. The goal is to keep the entire ballad under 10 minutes, with each song contributing about two minutes. In some cases, I’ve cut out choruses or rearranged verses to strengthen the storytelling aspect.

This project is all about creating an emotional journey through music—reimagining these iconic 90s tracks in a new, personal way.
