The links below lead to each major rule section, please ensure that you read these carefully!
While we don’t want to have a huge list of rules for people to forget, we have to cover a few more systems than usual for a PvE or PvP server, so we’ve divided this into a few sections for ease of use to cover the basics, and the few spots that require a little extra explanation. Please ensure you go over these, please do not be surprised if you fail to do so and we ask you to adhere to them!
Please know that strikes and bans are given at admin discretion, even if they are not explicitly stated in a rule. As doing so would result in an encyclopedia of rules that could be covered by common sense and decency.
We are an English speaking server, please take conversations in other languages to DMs as we cannot moderate these.
When using the portals to transfer between Siptah and The Exiled Lands for the first time, you will be prompted to create a new character! Do not panic, this is normal. Simply name the character with the name of your existing character and finish character creation. The mod will then load the existing character for you.
Please be aware that some things do not carry over at this time. Transmogs, RPRedux Character sheet, faction rep, languages, etc (the list will be expanded if we find more). Transmogs and character sheets will need to be reset by the player (best to record your sheet before transferring), however Languages will need to be set by an admin, so let one know if you have transferred and need that fixed/updated.
Please remember what server you have logged out on, if you log in to an empty character, log out and log back into the correct server. DO NOT TRANSFER WITH THE BLANK CHARACTER OR YOU WILL WIPE YOUR ACTUAL CHARACTER.
Please note that the non-dominant server will not have admin events held on it, this is considered a frontier zone and stories will be player driven.
1. Be respectful. If you can’t be nice, don’t be here. OOC Drama will not be tolerated. If you cannot accept the consequences of your RP or other situation in-game, please rethink your time here.
2. You must be 18+ to play on this server and be on our Discord. We also do not allow the roleplay of underage characters or characters that behave in a childlike manner. Pregnancy is also prohibited.
3. Please ensure that you fill out the basic requirements to be verified on the server. At the very least, you must have a name and consent sheet filled out in the Character Bio forum on discord. A Template will be provided in the pinned message. Unverified characters are subject to deletion. Do not invite players directly to the server, or give out our password. Invite them to our discord or direct them to this site instead!
4. You must be in a clan, even if solo! This helps us (Admins) deal with issues for you! Please also ensure that you change your name on Discord to match your character, this is to ensure that we know who you are and can contact you if a problem arises.
5a. No God-Modding. This is if you take control of another person’s character during RP, this also applies to essentially RPing your character as “invincible” because nobody else can even make a move on you (eg, You are amazingly able to dodge every attack, but none of yours miss).
b. No Metagaming. You can only use knowledge that you learn in the process of RP, or predefined mutually between two players (Such as characters that have a connection before “officially” beginning RP). This also means that in situations, there is no voices on the wind or messenger that can instantly have someone come and save you (These things take time, be realistic). Unless stated, or in an IC channel, anything in discord is OOC. This includes voice and images. This means anything learned there cannot be used in RP!
6. Portal Scrolls are not to be placed underneath people, as this can bug out and not create a portal to follow the person to the location they have been sent to. These are not to be used to Banish someone from RP without time to react, this is considered an act of Godmodding.
7. Sometimes there is RP that doesn't just effect you or your clan, but the entire server in some respects. This includes attacking established server hubs, admin made camps, etc. If these things are something you wish to do, a ticket must be opened and details must be provided for admins to approve.
8. If a player has not logged into the server for over a two weeks, they are eligible for deletion. This is to help keep our server clean! If the person is a solo player, all buildings and belongings will also be removed. If in a clan, the clan will be informed of this impending deletion, as adjustments may need to be made to bring their build and decor limits back into line if their clanmate is not returning. If you are going to be away for an extended period of time, please submit a ticket.
9. If you leave a clan, take only your personal items with you. If you wish to take extra, discuss this with your clan prior to leaving. Please take screenshots of this as proof to avoid issues. Taking items from a clan before leaving without asking is considered insiding and is an offense that will result in an immediate strike.
10. If you are given a special item, such as a transformation, this comes with a special responsibility to not abuse said item, as well as being documented by the admins. With Transforms, weapons and tools are not to be used in any RP or PVP actions whatsoever, The only exception is the Varigu werewolf form, which may use claw weapons. These items belong to the people they are given to, if they are stolen, this action has consequences, this also applies to racial items. Secondly, we have many items that are available via the transmog system such as transforms and other such things, these appearance items are not to be used unless with permission from admins (this also includes non-human Devious Desires items).
11. Class tokens must remain on you at all times, and these items may not be traded for any reason at all. They may not be stolen as part of RP or otherwise. Anyone breaking these rules will recieve a strike.
12. Rerolling. Players that have become major players in story elements, either as an antag clan that has affected up to at least three other clans, or any players that choose to partake in creating and running a player government in the admin hud zone, may not reroll until these stories or roles have been either ended or stepped down from. You may resolve these situations any way you see fit but they must be resolved.
While we understand sometimes you are just not having fun on a character or with a story and wish to reroll, if you are in a position of power that affects a majority of the server simply being allowed to reroll tends to have negative impacts on stories and players, and admins are willing to work with anyone in such a position to create methods that both are fair to all parties involved, and come to a resolution of those stories to allow the setup of new stories without just a void with little explanation.
Never use the In-game Recreate Character option unless directed by an admin! This does not correctly wipe all tags and will cause issues that will need to be fixed manually. If you wish to recreate or reroll a character, please contact an admin so we can reset you properly.
When you re-create your character, this is the same as a fresh start on the server. You will lose everything you own (Gear, Builds, Levels), unless you organise to transfer over some goods as a boost to your fresh start. This is entirely up to you as to how you accomplish this. You may not hand over racial items at this time.
13. ERP or other sexually explicit acts are not to be conducted openly within public areas, please take it to DMs and a private area if you happen to be near such places. The exception to this is The Den (not to be confused with the basegame area), which is just a short name for the Den of Debauchery. This rule also extends to POIs, nobody wants to see a POI about someone's crusty bodily fluids.
14. Stealing from a players inventory is not allowed, as is looking into a players inventory for any reason other than to apply restraints in an RP or Post-PvP scene. The removal of Restraint Keys or Lockpicks is allowed in these scenes to prevent escape, only these items do not count as stealing.
We do allow full access to accessories and skins with ToT!Custom. However this is not to mean this can be used without some form of restraint, nor without reason. This also falls under Rule 8 above.
Invisible skins are not to be abused, they have their purposes to aid with the creation of custom weapons/characters.
Invisible Thralls are allowed, but must have a visible aspect and must be set to passive at all times. These thralls may not be used to fight in any case.
Weapon Skins are not to be abused if they alter the hitbox of a weapon. Eg. Skinning a weapon with a shorter range with one that has a longer range. Bearded Axes from Emberlight have this issue in particular and these will be banned if it is abused.
You may not use shapeshifts available in Custom unless approved as part of your character.
Thralls, Golems, Zombies, and Pets can be powerful allies in battle, as such, we have a few short rules on followers to keep the server from getting clogged, as well as keeping PvP fair.
Players are limited to 5 Thralls and Pets total (per person), this also includes mounts.
Non-permanent followers such as Spiders from the Orb of Yezud, Corrupted Authority Perk Summon, and Vanilla Sorcery Call of the Dead spell, are allowed to be used in PvP, all others are prohibited.
Thralls and Pets left in the wild will be subject to removal. Aggressive pets players are allowed to kill on the spot, while ones on passive will have a three day timer from when they are reported lost to be returned home or killed. Players may keep loot from killed thralls and pets found out in the wild.
Thralls and pets/mounts must be set on Passive and parked outside of Hubs in a safe location.
Pets and Thralls are allowed to be hostile within your own base without it counting as an act of pvp. After all it's your home, if someone is breaking into an area they shouldn't be and get killed by your pets it's on them. If they kill your pets or thralls in this manner you are given IC reason for conflict if the attacker is known.
Vanilla Followers are allowed to be used in a Siege Raid situation, however, modded Followers must be put on passive and away from the fight in a safe location as many of these are very overpowered.
Ensure that you have set your Restricted Exiles (Shift + L) Settings to Allow Inventory Access, Allow Hardcore Restrictions, Enable Training. Similar settings in Devious Desires (Shift + H) Should also be set.
Restraints are there for conflict and slavery RP, wearing these show the player as being either a slave or prisoner of sorts and must be treated as such. Restraints are not fashion, nor are they to be used for min-maxing stats via the training feature.
Restraint locks should be escapable unless agreed on.
Prey Icons on the map are considered IC for all to see via some unknown means.
Tracking Collars are considered IC only for the one that put them on the person.
Events are an important part of RP and we have a few simple rules and guidelines that we ask players to adhere to.
Do not be disruptive, this event is not about you, but the celebration or issue at hand.
Try to keep posts short. While we appreciate the descriptive post you are crafting, others are waiting for you to finish your post so they can continue the RP.
Do not bring followers along! They only get in the way and become a generaly nuisance even if they are set to passive.
These are required for clan upgrades (Refer to the Building section for more information). Jade Medallions are acquired from player run events. Events require at least 24 hours notice in the events channel and are meant to encourage people to get out and about, while rewarding the clans that hold these events. These rewarded events may be held once per week, but more may be held if desired.
Dice rules for Khultan are as follows. Please keep in mind that these dice rules are subject to change over time as the dice system is improved and worked on.
During dice combat each player is limited to one reaction and one action per turn. A turn is ended though the use of the RPR end turn button. For dice based combat, only RPR attacks may be used, while the emote themselves can contain varied text the abilities themselves must be used for the outcomes of the rounds.
Outside combat you may only roll once for an effect on a target in a scene, after that roll the action is considered failed or succeeded based on the factors of highest roll wins if a target, and over DC 10 for general actions or rolls that do not have resistances tied to them. After the results of that, the same ability or effect can not be used again within the same scene.
Nat 1’s are critical failures, they are in fact an automatic failure of the skill or ability you are trying to do and result in it being unable to be used again in that scene.
Nat 20’s are criticals they do not result in success of the roll as the higher number still wins, they merely count as the effect of success being more potent. Example: A healing spell giving double healing if it is not resisted by magic resist.
Healing, pickpocketing, and other actions that directly affect another player character physically are limited to one attempt per scene, per person. Example: Bob casts heal on Tiffany and rolls healing magic, which fails. Bob can no longer attempt any form of healing on Tiffany for this scene, he must now get her to another healer or use his RPR healing ability if he is a healer class, otherwise must wait until a fresh scene at another location to attempt healing again. However John can still attempt to heal Tiffany during this scene.
If there are any rolls you would like to see moved into the RpR system to help streamline the dice system, please put this in suggestions and we will review it. While we do not wish to make the RpR loaded down with too many abilities, we do wish for the system to handle as much as possible to make dice combat, and dice interactions more smooth and easier to understand for all parties involved.
This section is for rules based on mods (that we have used or are currently in use) that don't particularly belong in another section. This is to ensure rule continuity across seasons and modlist changes and may not reflect the current modlist.
Only three Age of Calamitous Factions are allowed per clan. All players within this clan must be of the same three factions and players joining the clan must contact an admin to have their faction changed. This is to promote trading and RP associated with that. There is a channel in discord that lists faction relations to help players build story.
