The races of Khultan are varied and unique nations of people. Currently they are enjoying a period of relative peace as many leaders have put aside differences in the name of progress, both magical and scientific. Trade flourishes between these nations and wealth is growing, enabling them to send forth expeditions into the unknown, reaching across the map in ways they have never done before.
Please keep in mind these are not full histories of races and these pages will expand as time goes on. Images are not always direct representations of what is available ingame, but an idea as a whole for the visual identity of a race or part of it. These races are grouped together with a common archetype or theme between them, however this does not necessarily mean that they are related races!
Please see each individual race for more details.
Long ago the remnants of the Ancients fled to the corners of the world, and while the humans of today share that common ancestry, they are a far cry from their Ancient ancestors. Each land is distinct, and its people have made their own mark on the world.

Long ago, the Alva were once a race of people that came from beyond the stars, settling within the world for reasons unknown. These Alva were divided into three and settling in different parts of the world. These people have an affinity still for the night sky, though the different cultures of the Alva revere different aspects of it. The Alva may also be known by the collective name of “Elves” though to them it is considered something of a derogatory term. This term however may have simply stemmed from someplace far away.

The Faeli tend to be good natured folk for the most part.

The Ancients are responsible for many things, and they are also responsible for the creation of the Dumu. Pariah and experiments, these people suffered at the hands of their makers. Even today, some are still met with suspicion and curses. Escaping long ago from the Isle of Malachti, these people have flourished in their freedom, each excelling in different ways, and each having a respect for each other. While little is remembered of the Ancients and their magics, these people are all aware of the suffering each of their people endured, collectively naming themselves the Dumu.

These animalistic guardians are protective of what they have, often found in the service of religious places and gods or taking it on themselves to do so for their own benefit. Some may consider these forces of good, but that is not always the case. Some might think these people less than civilised, barely more than animals, but those that voice that aloud near these people often come to regret those words.

The Alva might claim ancestors from beyond the stars and the Ancients might have delved beyond the veil to bring forth new blood, but there is more beyond than just what many call demons. With a sundering of the world from the meddling of the Ancients, others have come from Beyond, strange, weird folk that invoke a sense of another world even if they have made their home here in this one. These are remnants and outcasts of their own realms, finding haven in this world, unable to return to their own for whatever reason it might be.

These people do not have their own unique lands, instead they have their own unique interactions or subcultures.
