When Bahl created the mortal realm, the chaotic forces and the veil needed a binding, and that binding came in the form of the World Serpent Ouros. The World Serpent was the scale to balance the cosmic forces, and through trickery, Bahl managed to get the serpent to devour its own tail, through which it forever locked the mortal realm in place on the other side of the Veil, separate from the void and its many realms. To ensure that the world serpent never sought freedom from his role, Bahl then built a fire to lull the elder god into slumber. It was through this slumber that the world serpent was able to reach into the dreams of mortals. It is in these dreams that the serpent is made manifest, always as a long dragon with no visible wings and two great front claws; from his head, two great horns of fire protrude. As such, Ouros has become known as the god of dreams and fire, the great dreamer, and should he ever awaken, the balance of the mortal realm would unravel.
While all cultures honour the world serpent, his worship can be seen most often within the lands of Hunlua. With the chaotic nature of the nation, the great dreamer and binder is seen as a way to bring the chaos into order. As such, hearts from once-living things are often offered into great altars of fire, something that the Hunluan believe assists in keeping Ouros in its slumber.
In the realm of Albann, Ouros is seen as a great dragon, keeping the world between its claws within its great horde of treasures that it hides from the other gods. As such, the Albanni see Ouros as a great protector and often adorn their armour and walls with icons of dragons, believing that the dreamer will bless them with protection.
Due to his presence in the dreams of mortals, Ouros has managed to influence events in the mortal world more than any other god. And as the god of fire, mortals often see his presence in their dreams as an omen of warmth and good tidings. However, Ouros seeks to balance the world, and his powers allow him to ensure that light and dark always remain on equal footing.
Ouros is often depicted as a giant snake-like dragon with two massive horns of flame upon its head. In most depictions, Ouros has its tail within its mouth and the mortal world embraced at the center. Most holy symbols and icons as such are normally simple metal rings of a serpent devouring its own tail, and most often they have a reddish hue to the metal to symbolise the fire keeping the serpent asleep.
No realm has more cults and shrines dedicated to Ouros than Hunlua, and to a lesser degree, amongst the Albanni as a protector god. However, at least one cult of darkly aligned dragon worshippers is rumoured to exist amongst Runaharr, who see dragons as the mightiest monsters that one can fight in life and seek to become like them.
As the god of dreams and he himself bound to the mortal plane, which can be seen in the night sky as a great constellation, Ouros has no realm to call his own. Instead, those that help preserve the balance of the world, are often guided through the veil by the great serpent.
