a journey i will survive

she never got to go on a grand adventure or journey. never got to choose whether to be a trainer or a breeder or a coordinator or anything. instead, cat was thrust into the world without a companion, without family, without much of anything but a destroyed belief she could have a family. she had grown up in floccesy town with a few pokémon around the house and with playing around the ones at miss amy's farm, but none of them were ever hers.
even during the ring, she was never given one. told she wasn't allowed to have one. copper didn't want her having a potential tool under her belt, after all. she did utilize others within the ring, and flint and margie often asked their partners to accompany her at times, but they would always return to their original friends and owners. seeing this unsettled cat to a degree. they weren't being tormented like she was, but she still saw the sense of control people had on pokémon. she didn't like how it mirrored copper over her.
juvie and such followed suit in much the same way. her only change to present day is meatloaf is actually a purrloin, and the closest she has to a pokémon partner of any sort. for now.

• copper's main pokémon of choice were a bisharp and a mandibuzz. the bisharp was heavily involved in her abuse while the mandibuzz worked more as cleanup and eye in the sky

• her aunt and uncle had three pokémon that she saw around the house. simisear, luxxio, and sunflora

• she was supposed to accept a deerling as her partner once she was old enough. she and scott had saved the young thing together, then it was left to be raised on amy's farm. since cat was around more so to tend to it than scott, she and the deerling, who the two children had named promise, grew close. unfortunately, with her disappearance, promise never got to be alongside her, and has instead joined scott's team in her absence
