this au DOES NOT have to happen this way. this is the general verse occurrence, but if another muse wants to be the one to give her the clean slate, this verse will also be used for that. she will still take the same fake name of ivy, though last name and such will vary.
a continuation of her main verse, cat ends up running into an undercover fbi agent who goes by marley. an older gentleman, he's seen some of the deepest, darkest parts of humanity, and can tell cat isn't fully part of it. taking her a bit under his wing, he eventually reveals his identity to her. he promises to get her out of her current life if she'll assist him with his job. rockily, cat accepts, but the path isn't quite as smooth as either of them could anticipate. he never gives up, however, and cat's soon given a new name, a new identity, a new life... and it's scarier than anything else she's gone up against.
NAME ;; ivy sturges
FORMER NAME ;; cat
LOCATION ;; varies, will default to new york city or los angeles
AGE ;; 18/19+ years
STATUS ;; living with her guardian, marley, and taking online classes
while the same as her main verse, things started to change when she ran into a gang containing marley. she was recruited by the kingpin of said gang to help with some drug running, but cat worked alongside right hand man marley sporadically for the different events. something always seemed different about him, though she couldn't ever place it. he tended to pay her too much mind, and that unnerved her, but she did nothing. there wasn't the vibes around him like hackett had given off... he was strangely parental. eventually, she learned it was because he was an undercover fbi agent.
initially, cat panicked, thinking he was going to take her in since she was getting hired by his gang. he didn't, instead asking for her help. newfound nervousness made her reluctant to agree, but she did, and soon they formed an unlikely partnership. with her help, he busted enough ( enemy ) drug lords to actually start scaring gangs into hiding. things became trickier, and marley told her she didn't have to keep the job up with him. yet, cat didn't see anything better to do. this way, she was actually even being useful and not just a thief. when marley told her he'd help her put the past behind her, she wasn't sure what to think. it seemed too good to be true...
they had one last job. to bust the very kingpin - called bash - he was working for. but somewhere along the way, bash had figured out marley was the snitch. keeping marley around for the time being was great; he was taking out opponents, after all. now that his own group was in danger, bash wasn't going to put up with that. he got to cat, and he coaxed upon her fears. when it was all said and done, would marley really help her? or would he toss her into jail with all the rest of them? her head spinning, cat initially helped bash, pulling a knife on marley and almost fatally wounding him. marley barely escaped, and for a few months, cat stood on bash's side.
to her shock, marley found her alone one evening. and he wasn't angry, he didn't attack, he cared. and he just wanted her safe from bash's clutches. he repeated his promise of a new life, and cat started to find herself thinking again. she took a recording device marley offered and got him the confession needed with bash unknowing marley had gotten to her once more.
before she could be arrested with the rest, the man who looked after her swooped in, sparing her from his coworkers, tucking her away with him far out of the city. there, he produced fake documents for her new identity. her hair was dyed, a passport made to accompany it, and she became ivy sturges.
moving out west, cat, now ivy, tries to make something of her new life, though giving up some things about who she was is proving hard.
she hasn't reunited with scott yet. struggling to figure out how to explain what's become of herself to him. not even amy and jon know she's in a new life, she's content for now to let people believe she is dead
has learned about her dad but doesn't care to meet him
while they dyed her hair blonde, she admittedly hates it, but it was so unlike her that she felt it was best. she's trying to put as much distance between who she was and who she is now, because it's been hard to turn away from it all
she still sometimes helps marley when he goes undercover or the like. she knows the ins and outs of the world, and she's less suspicious in many cases
sometimes she faces severe bouts of dissociation because she doesn't know who she is anymore. sarah, cat, ivy... she's some mesh of the three and doesn't seem to like it. it's not unusual to catch her sitting quietly and staring off into the distance
she simply calls marley as "marley" even though that isn't his real name. she's never asked for it, and a part of her doesn't want it. she hears it so often when they're out and he has to use it for life. his real name is zachary
more to come as i flesh this version of "cat" out
she will be referred to as ivy in threads in this au
