this au is to have older cat exist outside of her "canon" with scott or any au where she's adopted in some way. she grows older and lives alone in a crappy apartment where she usually has a crappy "boyfriend" and a crappy job. some basic stealing and manipulation along with working at a diner help provide her the cash she needs to get by. she's living a much closer to legal life, and has faded in obscurity with fake papers and the like.
this verse can vary depending on the situation, but is generally for the information listed below.
LOCATION ;; run down apartment in new york city but is flexible on city
AGE ;; 28+ years
STATUS ;; waitress at linda's diner, still an occassional thief and drug dealer and the like when needed
same as mainverse for the most part except she doesn't go on to reunite with scott, never found by margaret. instead, she makes it to her late twenties/early thirties, still small and sickly. she’s gotten better at being a thief but has also obtained a real job. working as a waitress in a diner, it gives cat a somewhat reasonable hiding spot from suspicion.
she’s gotten herself a crappy apartment, but barely pays off her bills. most of her money is squandered on food and alcohol, the latter of which she has taken a liking to.
the picture of scott's is hidden in the drawer beside her pathetic mattress for a bed. she thinks about him more often – especially when sober. but she’s accepted that he’s probably moved far beyong remembering her, and she’ll never find him again no matter how her heart aches.
she has a “boyfriend” named henry. he’s really more just a reason for her to pretend to feel things. she cares little for him and doesn’t even acknowledge him as a real relationship. in the end, however, cat’s mostly just wasting away.
meatloaf has passed away by now. she would get a dog or a new cat or something, but she's told herself no unless she can keep plants alive. unfortunately, she's lost her green thumb due to the apathy that's taken hold of her
henry is the only two intimate relationship she has. despite being drunk often and acting like she wants to do more, cat doesn't hook up often or easily
she smokes every so often in this verse, though it's not exactly "addiction" status yet as it's only once every few weeks
she did learn about her father at some point, but realizing what and who he is only increased her depression. he's rotting in jail for the rest of his life; she doesn't want to join him
