Starshooters
"Starshooters are a cunning, arrogant race, looking down on their former dragonkin with distain and contempt. Long ago the abandoned the traditions of their ancestors, eventually evolving out of their horns and lifegems, even creating a new language all their own. Unlike other Stardragons their gemstones and eyecolour do not always match one another.
Because they are no longer blessed by the dragon gods, their power has waned. To compensate they hunt down other Stardragons and harvest their magic, using it as they see fit.
Female Starshooters no longer follow the tradition of wearing flowers in their hair.
Rarity Trait Key: COMMON UNCOMMON RARE LEGENDARY
Male Starshooters have larger forearms and claws than their female counterparts, with a single spike protruding from each elbow.
Spurs allow Starshooters to levitate and travel at faster speeds. Military issued.
Magic infused enhancement rings can be worn around the wrist or at the end of the tail, to improve strength and reduce tail drag.
A ring of crystals loops around the tip of the tail.
Wings: It is exceptionally rare to find a winged Starshooter as they have forsaken the Gods which once granted them the blessing of flight. A Starshooter with wings will be seen as an outcast. Their wingshape is similar to that of their tailplates. [can substitute standard angel wings.]
(Wings are Legendary)
Tailplates [common] come in a variety of shapes and sizes, often matching the colour of their tail ring. They are surprisingly soft and flexible. Examples; "Standard Rounded, Cutlass, Frilled, Pronged, Notched."
Secondary plates [uncommon, rare] in some cases Starshooters will have an additional plate or two at the tip of each spine. The secondary plates typically accentuate the rest of the tail shape. Examples: "Double plated" (uncommon) "Triple Plated" (rare)
Engraved plates [uncommon] Engraving is a body modification it is uncommon, as it threatens durability of the plates. Example: Swirls, Rosebud
Joined plates [uncommon] Tailplates typically grow in four seperate spines but some shooters have one jointed plate extending down their tails. Examples; Finned, Double, Short, Short Saw
Ear Types; Perked, Short, Lop Ear, Custom Cut (common), Multigem, Flared (uncommon)
Mutations; Like all Stardragons, Starshooters onc posessed horns of their own. Nowadays, such a trait is almost unheard of (legendary)
The ability to control the elements is a gift bestowed upon a select few, their aspect is usually quite evident, with energy radiating from their hands and forearms. (rare)
Sharshooters with extra eyes typically lack any discernible pupils or irises though they can see just fine (rare)
Tail Shards Rings of crystal float around the end of the tail. They can be many shapes & sizes, grown naturally or cut cosmetically. Standard Sundial Pointed Rounded (common) Joined (uncommon)
Variation Shooters can have dew claws or no dew claws. "Crystal Claws" are a common mutation. No one knows why some shooters grow these crystals. Some say it's because Raziel thought it would look cool. Standard with and without dewclaw, and Crystal Claws are common
Apparel
Dressing up is somewhat of a passtime for Starshooters, though not neccessarily required.
Their style typically reflects that of the victorian era up to the early 1900s.
Military
Starshooters serving in the military are actually more akin to hunters, tracking down other Stardragons to harvest their magical energy and lifegems.
They are provided with equiptment and endure extensive training.
Weaponry
Starshooters, with a bit of practice can conjure a vast array of magical weapons, including swords, polearms, crossbows, hand claws, scythes, ect.
Unarmed Starshooters, however are relatively weak.
Scorned
Some shooters beleive those who are born with this mutation are cursed to look like their more primitive selves. However, the younger generation may believe this to be a blessing given to them by Basut himself. [Legendary]
