Newroz Camp

Newroz camp is located in Hasakeh governorate, Al-Malikeyyeh sub-district and hosts approximately 6,100 individuals (1,100 households). The site was originally established in 2014 and hosted Yazidis displaced by ISIS from Iraq. This population left the camp by the end of 2019. However the Operation Peace Spring in October 2019 led to IDPs being displaced to the site. The camp has continued to recieve IDPs since October 2019 with conflict escalation along frontlines displacing households. Between December 2020 to December 2022, the camp increased by approximately 930 households. 

The camp has a static NGO Camp Management presence and a Camp Administration.
