ABOUT DEPARTMENT:
Textile Manufacturing Technology Department established in 1969, is one of the esteemed department of Dr. S. & S. S. Ghandhy College of Engineering And Technology, Surat. Institute is running under Department of Technical Education, Government of Gujarat. Diploma in Textile Manufacturing Technology program is approved by All India council for technical education (AICTE), New Delhi and is affiliated to Gujarat Technological university, Ahmedabad.
Textile Manufacturing Technology is a branch of engineering which deals with designing and manufacturing of yarn, Functional Fabrics and Garments. Surat, an emerging city in the state of Gujarat, is known as the textile city of Gujarat. And, the epithet is perfectly suited to the city. The textile industry is one of the oldest and the most widespread industries in Surat. A major part of the city's population is associated with the textile industry. Day by Day Textile Industries Upgraded Technically & therefore to full fill the requirement of technical People are essential. The department has qualified faculty members engaged in teaching learning process with the aim of achieving excellence in the field of Textile engineering.

Certificate course of duration 2 years from TEB /NCVT/GCVT/IGTR (3rd Sem. Entry)

PEO1: Analyse different processes of textile manufacturing industry.
PEO2: Acquire expertise to manage the machine and workers shiftwise in different private and public sectors who involves with the manufacturing of fibres, yarns, fabrics and garments.
PEO3: Solve real world problems in a safe, professional and ethical manner in order to achieve sustainable growth of industry and society.

Each year after completing Diploma in Textile Manufacturing Technology many students join the Bachelor of Engineering course and some of the students are placed in companies.
