The king of Srivijaya, of course, was at the top of the social hierarchy in Srivijaya (take note that the kings of city states and small kingdoms under the control of the Srivijayan king could be said to be at the top of the hierarchy within their own realms, but they were still subservient to the king in Srivijaya). The king also had clerks, scribes, and tax collectors working for him who were very powerful members of society. Monks and holy men were likely well respected, so could be placed high on the social hierarchy. Since merchants were so important in the kingdom, they can probably be placed under monks and holy men on the hierarchy. The navy, of course, had some power, but probably not a lot of money. Craftsman and tradesmen likely came next, while laborers and slaves were, of course, at the bottom of the hierarchy.
