Use this form to send problem reports and fix-it requests: online form or downloadable PDF
Feel free to fix things on your own. But, don't get ambitious if the problem is beyond your level of experience. If you do fix something, send a report to the above email address so issues can be tracked.
Some tools are located in the greenhouse in the bottom cabinet. There are additional tools in the pumphouse garage, some on shelves and others in a locked cabinet (key location available upon request). Please return all tools to their original location (cleaned and dry). There are some nails and screws in both locations. Wood and PVC are stored outside atop the dirt "shed" on the north side of the greenhouse.
Frequent Problems
Table rot - the slats comprising nursery table tops periodically rot. If you find a slat needing replacement please mark the table edge by that slat with blue painters tape and send a maintenance request. This applies to both tables in the greenhouse and outdoor tables.
Greenhouse sprinklers - these sprinklers are on a timer that periodically loses track of time and so needs to be reset. Send a maintenance request if you notice the greenhouse plants are too wet or too dry. Even if the timer is working correctly, sprinkler heads can get clogged leaving the area around it dry. So check for that as well. The sprinkler controller (timer) is a green box mounted on the wall above and to the left of the point-of-sale cabinet.
Nursery sprinklers - these sprinklers are part of the arboretum grounds maintained by Loral Landscape Inc. We have no access to the controller. However, we can adjust or replace the sprinkler heads so reports problems with them to maintenance.
Hoses and watering bands - hoses and and watering wands are a frequent source of trouble. To reduce maintenance issues, (1) turn off the water when not in use (2) take care in winding hoses onto the reels to avoid kinking (3) do not leave watering wands dangling at a odd angle that puts stress on the coupling.
