The need for oxygen gas is deeply appreciated during the current pandemic as it is widely used by hospitals all over. Producing oxygen and industrial gases is a big challenge that Mr. Barooah took on over three decades ago. In this webinar, he'll discuss both the technical and business aspects of gas products, drawn from his experience.


Abhijit Barooah is the founding Managing Director of Guwahati-based Premier Cryogenics, which is a leading industrial Gas manufacturing company of India. Its products are liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, industrial and medical oxygen, industrial and high purity nitrogen gas, dissolve acetylene, dry compressed air, etc. Its products are used by a diverse set of entities such as ISRO, ONGC, OIL, IOCL, NRL, BRPL, leading Hospitals, Railways, and Indian Air Force.

He studied at Cotton Collegiate H.S. School and Cotton College, before receiving his B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT-Delhi, and his M.S. from University of Rochester, USA. His awards include Axom Shrestha Award, NEDFI Entrepreneurial Excellence Award, and Asom Udyog Ratna Award.


After Mr. Barooah's presentation, the fireside chat with Mr. Barooah will be conducted by Prof. Deep Medhi. After this, the participants will get an opportunity to ask questions. Prof. Deep Medhi is Program Director at the National Science Foundation, USA, where he manages future research programs and leads research infrastructure efforts for large-scale networked computing. He hails from Guwahati.
