About

SKC Science & Technology Webinar Series is geared for a wider audience.  The target audience is higher secondary and college students and teachers, but not necessarily limited to science & technology fields. This series brings in experts from around the globe to present topics in Science & Technology. The webinar is done in a bit informal, interactive format like a fireside chat as well as  allowing participants to ask questions to the speakers. While the series is primarily planned for audience in Assam, India (and some sessions are conducted in Assamese), there are no restrictions for anyone to attend a webinar.  The recorded webinars are available from the SKC Science & Technology YouTube channel.

Besides Webinars, SKC Science & Technology is planning to make additional science & technology information available through its website.

Now briefly a bit behind the name SKC. This endeavor is named in memory of Saurav Kumar Chaliha, a noted Assamese short story writer. He received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1974 for his short story collection, "Golam". In 1995, he was bestowed with  ‘Assam Valley Literary Award’. SKC was his pen name; he was a physicist by training and was passionate about science. He passed away in 2010. See samplings of his short stories (including translations in English), at this site.
