Executive Officers

This is where things might start to get a little more complicated. Only because there are a lot of executive officers, most of them with their own departments and sometimes the name of the officer doesn't clearly spell out what they do. So if this starts to seem confusing, don't worry. We have all been there. Some of us still don't fully get how this works!

• The Executive Officers are officials nominated by the President and approved by the Senate. Their job is to act on the government's orders as specified by their role.

• They may be ordered to resign by the President at the President's will, and they may be impeached by a majority in the Senate.

• They do not have election terms- they stay until they resign or are impeached.

• Currently there are eleven Executive Officers:

  • Secretary of Elections (SoE): Oversees and orchestrates the election process, and investigates potential voting rigging or election fraud.

  • Secretary of Expansion (SoEX): Advertises the subreddit across Reddit to tries and expand it.

  • Secretary of Foreign Affairs/Head of Foreign Affairs (SoFA/HoFA): Their duty includes diplomacy with other SimNations and relations with other SubReddits.

  • Secretary of Media (SoM): Oversees and manages SimDemocracy's YouTube channel, which can be found here

  • Attorney General (AG): Prosecutes persons/groups on behalf of the government, and creates the Bar Exam for anyone interested in becoming a Certified Attorney (see Judiciary).

  • Head of Advertising (HoA): Oversees the Department of Advertising and has the role of spreading the word of SimDemocracy to other SubReddits and Discords. But also doing so in a respectful and polite manner.

  • Head of Integration (HoI): Oversees the Department of Integration and is in charge of helping new and existing members learn more about SimDemocracy and help them be able to participate and become active in the community.

  • Head of Archives (HoAr): Oversees the Department of Archives. They are in charge of logging historical data that could be used for future purposes. As well as being responsible for the Wiki Branch.
