Balsa is light, and basswood is stronger, but heavier. The best structures are built purely out of balsa wood, but a mix of both can lead to a solid structure as well.
The following super glues are tried and tested, and the reviews are amazing too. Whatever you do, do NOT get Loctite - it doesn't work well with balsa. Use it for literally anything else.
