This event is about the Solar Sysem, and each year the rules give you a limited list of topics to focus on. This year, the solar system objects you are supposed to focus on are Venus, Mars, Europa, Enceladus, Titan, 101955 Benu, and 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The extrasolar systems that you are meant to focus on are TRAPPIST-1, Kepler-186, TOI-700, and Proxima Centauri. You also must know information on techniques to assess habitability, engineering various space technologies, exoplanet detection, basic mathematical concepts relating to habitability, general characteristics of asteroids and comets, and basic chemistry and biology relating to habitability. I will only provide helpful resources for the solar system objects and extrasolar systems below. It is important to read the rules for more information on what to research.Â
Each team may bring one 8.5inx11in cheat sheet that may contain information from any source in any form on both sides. It may be in a sheet protector (linked below), or laminated, but it may not have any annotations or labels affixed.
