This is a relatively simple lab based event. The goal is to make observations and conduct/formulate experiments. The sample stations should be looked at and tried out, and the variety of supplies that you can bring is very long. You must know how a dichotomous key works, how to measure pH, use a microscope, read a chart, calculate many things (area, density, mean, median, mode, volume etc.) using a variety of measurement tools. There would be too many resources if I put one for each and every one of the above, but some of the more difficult to understand are below.
You are allowed one 8.5 x 11 in double sided cheat sheet for this event. It may be laminated/covered by a sheet protector. More details are in the rules, but you can buy some sheet protectors below. You are also allowed two standalone non-programmable non-graphing calculators, which you can get from the links below.
There are also a lot of lab materials that can be used for this event, to which resources are below. These are for practice purposes only; materials will be provided for you on the actual day of the event.
