20 teachers in 8 shared education partnerships took part in a two-day online course as part of Ulster University’s REBEL project, led by Professor Roger Austin, to learn how to extend their face-to-face contacts by using online communication tools.
After a day and a half’s hands-on experience supported by EA, teachers created 6-week projects to use a range of online tools, put the projects into action with their pupils and came back together to share insights on teaching, learning and shared education with the group.
A range of Shared Education and Sectoral Support Teacher Professional Learning Bitesize Modules have been delivered during 2022/23.

The first Introductory Workshops for the Steps into Sharing Programme have been held across each Locality. These sessions helped to raise the awareness of Shared Education, build an understanding of what Shared Education is, the benefits of Shared Education and provide a timeline for learning to all those involved in the programme. Initial feedback has been extremely positive and this will be an exciting new chapter for all of the participating schools.
