Work Related Skills
Study Overview
The VCE VM Work Related Skills subject is a practical based subject that is centered around providing an environment that prepares students for the workplace after the completion of their VM studies. Students will investigate the importance of maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues and employers, as well as the characteristics of a positive workplace culture and its relationship to business success. Students will explore key areas relating to workplace relations including methods for determining pay and conditions, workplace bullying, workplace discrimination, workplace harassment and dispute resolution. This will prepare students for their portfolio development task and presentation, in application of the learnt concepts across the year.
On the completion of this unit, students will be able to employ strategies in planning and decision making within the workplace, participate in goal setting and reflective practices, and propose strategies to enhance workplace and career prospects.
