There is a place for YOU with the South County Mustang Band! We have a long-standing tradition of excellence and that will continue with you being a part of our Mustang Band Family.
In our band classes, students will receive intense study of band literature with a strong emphasis on the fundamentals of sound production on the student’s selected instrument, embouchure, hand position, rhythm, note reading, balance, blend, intonation, etc.
All band students will develop technical skills and the ability to perform exceptionally. Performing groups provide training in numerous musical skills and techniques and develop an understanding of both solo and chamber ensemble performing as well as group ensemble playing.
Students will learn about various genres of musical literature and styles as they also learn about and demonstrate the concepts of teamwork, commitment, dedication, and responsibility.
Classes are available to students with or without any previous musical experience.
There will be a placement "audition" so you are able to be placed in the correct class for your level. To find audition information, click HERE.
Students who register for South County’s music performing ensembles commit to the full-year class.
Outside-of-school rehearsals will be required and the group will have mandatory public performances.
